DOW AT ALL TIME HIGH

The Dow Jones closed yesterday at an all time high.

The index of 30 blue chip stocks ended the session at 11,727.34, according to preliminary calculations, wiping out the previous record of 11,722.98.


People, I want you to know that this is all BUSH'S FAULT! The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer because George Bush is manipulating the stock market. (Gotdam. I need some way of marking what I write so the left wingers will know it is sarcasm..otherwise they will be linking this shit to some moonbatty site.)

In all seriousness though, the economy is not in bad shape. Growth has slowed but may be spurred by lowering fuel costs. As I see it the problem with our economy is that industry is leaving the country to another place off shore where they can make a profit and the economic growth is primarily in services..especially medical services.

Many years ago an agriculture economics professor explained that all wealth comes from taking a natural resource and enhancing its value...services really don't produce anything nor enhance the value of a natural resource..the professor claimed that although services make a profit it is really just money changing hands and does not help the economic health of a country. I tend to agree with this...

In any event we ain't broke and destitute yet even if the Chinese hold more of our dollars than we do. I reckon if it gets too bad the Fed will just issue some more money, huh?
